How do I avoid tolerance and dependency?

Hi there

Okay, so this is my first thread – ive done Kratom before, and I used daily as it helped me out at work etc. But I noticed that I needed more and more to feel it, and when I decided to stop i felt like crap for a week after. How do I avoid the tolerance?  Do you guys have a special schedule that you follow?

I would recommend a tolerance break for a week or two.  During that time if you can’t cut down cold turkey, you could use akuamma, hirsuta, or javanica to get the same effects of kratom.  These hit more on kappa and delta receptors, which will allow your mu receptors (kratom effects) to rest and reset.

Another way is to properly use potentiators.  Some are good before doses and some after doses, timing is everything, so research potentiators well before you use them, as they can make tolerance worse if you don’t time them right.

Feel free to email me if you have questions, I’m happy to help.

Hi I’m new! What do you use for potentiators please? I don’t know when to take the class cats claw before or after the Timeric same thing

Cats claw is the best IMHO, I take 30min-1hr before dose.  Turmeric needs to be taken during the time between your doses with the most time between them, i.e. you dose at 6pm use turmeric before bed at 10pm and dose again in the morning at 7am.

Citrus before dose, fatty foods/liquids before dose, magnesium anytime, agamatine – time gap like turmeric, cur cumin – time gap, ashwagandha – time gap, theanine – time gap, CBD before dose, etc…  Theres a lot more, but these are the common ones.

You have to understand how tolerance works. In the most basic terms it’s like this:

As you take Kratom daily you have to take a little more each day in order to feel the same effect. This is because you are building a tolerance.

If you want to reduce your tolerance, you have to take a little less each day. If you don’t already have a high enough tolerance to feel withdrawal symptoms, then you can just take a break for a few days or a week to drop your tolerance back down.

Since you’re asking this question, I assume you already have a tolerance. A lot of people use what’s called a taper to reduce their dose slowly over time so they don’t feel sick.

A quick Google search brings up a lot of information about how to do this, such as this well-written article: https://www.kickkratom.com/blog/kratom-taper-guide/
